ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon field hockey team notched 26 saves in an 8-1 loss to Mary Washington at Day Field.
The Eagles (9-4) scored four times in the first half and collected the first goal of the second period before senior Julia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) finished in front of the goal for the Yellow Jackets four minutes into the second half on a pass from senior Kaitee Nicholas (Virginia Beach, Va./Tallwood) to make it 5-1. UMW registered the final three goals of the contest.
Randolph-Macon will travel to Wilson for a 4 p.m. contest on Monday, Oct. 17.
