Yurgel Named to All-America Team

ASHLAND, Va. – Senior kicker Seth Yurgel (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland) has been named All-America Third Team by D3football.com.

Yurgel was previously an All-South Region First Team pick by D3football.com, Specialist of the Year in the state of Virginia for the Division II, III/NAIA, USCAA level by the Touchdown Club of Richmond, and an All-ODAC First Team selection.

Yurgel was second on the team and sixth in the ODAC with 6.3 points per game (69 points in 11 games). He was 10 for 12 on field goals, with a long of 44 yards. Yurgel hit 39 of 41 extra points. Yurgel made 127 PATs in his career, the fourth-highest total in ODAC history and second in program history. He was 10 away from the program record.

Under ODAC Coach of the Year Pedro Arruza, the Yellow Jackets won their 10th ODAC title, the second-highest total in league history. R-MC posted a 9-2 mark, matching the program record for victories in a season. The Yellow Jackets went 6-1 in ODAC play, setting a school record for ODAC wins in a season. R-MC earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Arruza, in his 13th season at Randolph-Macon, was named ODAC Coach of the Year for the second time. He was also honored in 2008.
