ASHLAND, Va. - Following its 2016 ODAC Championship and return to the NCAA Tournament, head coach Pedro Arruza and the Randolph-Macon football team have released the schedule for the 2017 campaign.
The Yellow Jackets will have four of their six conference contests at home, including their first Thursday night game at Day Field.
R-MC opens the season on Sept. 2 at home against Dickinson in a non-conference contest. The Yellow Jackets are on the road the next two weeks in non-conference tilts at Averett on Sept. 9 and at Catholic on Sept. 16.
Following its open weekend, R-MC begins ODAC play on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. against Shenandoah. That game will kick off Family Weekend activities.
The Yellow Jackets travel to Bridgewater on Oct. 7 before hosting Emory & Henry on Oct. 14. R-MC travels to Newport News for a non-conference game at The Apprentice School.
R-MC will host Washington & Lee on Oct. 28 for Homecoming 2017. The Yellow Jackets head to Guilford on Nov. 4 before ending the season at home for The Game against Hampden-Sydney on Nov. 11 in the 122nd meeting between the longtime rivals. R-MC defeated H-SC 48-23 a season ago to win the 2016 ODAC championship. The Yellow Jackets have defeated the Tigers three straight times and in five of the past six meetings.
