ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon Baseball head coach Ray Hedrick is excited to announce dates for two Holiday camps that will be hosted by RockIt Sports Indoor Training Facility.  The Holiday Youth Skills Camp will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 and the Holiday High School Showcase Camp will take place on Wednesday, December 27, 2017

The Holiday Youth Skills Camp is an opportunity for campers to learn the fundamentals of the game. This camp is designed for 7-13-year-old players.  Instruction will cover the fundamentals of Throwing, Infield Play, Outfield Play, Pitching, Base Running and Hitting and Pitching. Along with skill and drill stations, the campers will also play in games, which will emphasize the skills taught earlier in camp.  In addition to developing baseball skills, the R-MC Baseball staff is hoping campers continue to develop a love for the game.

The Holiday High School Showcase Camp is an opportunity for prospective student-athletes to perform in front of the Randolph-Macon coaching staff.  This camp is for high school and junior-college players. Campers will go through a pro-style workout, receive valuable instruction, and perform in a controlled pitcher/hitter match-up.

Due to the individualized attention provided to campers, enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis and will be limited to 50 per session for both camps.

Hosting our Jacket Diamond Holiday Camps is RockIt Sports Indoor Training Facility, directed by former Yellow Jacket baseball player George Bland ’96.  Bland was driven to provide ever-growing need for quality, personalized instruction in athletics which in his eyes serves as a platform for the development of critical life skills.  Along with Bland, the list of connections with RockIt Sports and R-MC Baseball runs deep.  Assistant Director Austin Carpenter ’13, Coaches Brian Toland ’96, and Glenn McLaughlin ’13 all wore the Black & Lemon proudly on the diamond. Also, former R-MC assistant coach Austin McGowan now coaches at RockIt Sports.
