R-MC Baseball as High as #13 in National Polls

ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon baseball team is ranked as high as No. 13 in the latest three national Division III polls.

The Yellow Jackets moved to 13th in the Perfect Game poll. R-MC was No. 21 in the D3baseball.com poll. The Yellow Jackets moved to 23rd in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball poll.

Under head coach Ray Hedrick, R-MC been ranked for 34 consecutive weeks, dating back to March 17, 2015.

The Yellow Jackets are 25-13 overall and 13-7 in ODAC play. R-MC will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to open tourney play on Friday, May 5 at 6 p.m. against fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan at City Stadium in Lynchburg, Va. R-MC topped the Marlins twice during the regular season, 11-3 in Virginia Beach on March 22 and 13-0 in Ashland on April 11.
