R-MC Baseball Still Ranked as High as No. 11 in National Polls

ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon baseball team is ranked as high as No. 11 in the three national Division III polls.

The Yellow Jackets remained at No. 11 in the Perfect Game poll. The Yellow Jackets climbed to 12th in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball poll. R-MC moved up to No. 13 in the D3baseball.com poll.

R-MC went 3-0 at home last week. The Yellow Jackets defeated No. 23 Christopher Newport 12-9 on Tuesday before sweeping an ODAC doubleheader from Lynchburg on Saturday. R-MC won the opener 12-8 against the Hornets and took the nightcap 17-0.

The Yellow Jackets are 21-7 overall after their 13-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday. R-MC is 10-3 in ODAC play, good for third in the league standings.

Under head coach Ray Hedrick, the Yellow Jackets have been ranked for 31 consecutive weeks, dating back to March 17, 2015.

Randolph-Macon will host York on Thursday, April 13 at 3:30 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Eastern Mennonite on Saturday for a noon ODAC doubleheader.
