ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon junior Cole Migliorini (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) was selected as a member of the D3baseball.com Team of the Week after helping the Yellow Jackets go 3-1 last week.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly national honor roll, recognizing performers at each position from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Migliorini was also named ODAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. Migliorini batted .563 (9 for 16) in four games for the 11rh-ranked Yellow Jackets with one double, two triples and two home runs. He led the team with seven runs, nine RBI, three walks, 20 total bases, 1.250 slugging percentage and .632 on-base percentage. Migliorini had multiple RBI in each game and at least one hit and one run in each contest.
In Tuesday's 13-0 ODAC victory over Virginia Wesleyan, Migliorini went 2 for 3 with a pair of triples, two runs and two RBI. In Thursday's 10-6 victory over York, He was 3 for 4 with a double, a homer, three runs and two RBI. Migliorini belted a solo homer in the eighth that gave R-MC its final margin of victory.
In the opener of Saturday's ODAC doubleheader at Eastern Mennonite, Migliorini went 3 for 5 with one run and two RBI. In the nightcap, he belted a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to put the Yellow Jackets on top 9-5 before posting a 9-7 victory.
Migliorini has a 10-game hit streak and has hit safely in 17 of his past 18 contests. He is first in the ODAC with nine home runs and with a slugging percentage of .781. Migliorini is third in the conference with 40 RBI and fourth with 38 runs. He is the only player to be ranked in the Top 5 in both runs and RBI.
In conference-only games, Migliorini is first in the ODAC with five home runs, 28 RBI and .869 slugging percentage in 15 games. He is second in the league with 29 hits, 22 runs, a batting average of .475 and on-base percentage of .529.
Randolph-Macon (23-8, 11-4 ODAC) will host Hampden-Sydney in an ODAC contest on Wednesday, April 19 at 3:30 p.m. on Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park.
